These sculptural heads are made using clay and found materials gathered around Tamworth, giving the work a strong connection to the place I grew up. Influenced by brutalist textures and contemporary sculpture, the pieces are built intuitively through layering, cracking, and reworking, allowing each form to develop naturally over time. Their rough surfaces and distorted expressions create an intimidating presence while still feeling human. Imperfections and damage are left visible, becoming an important part of the character and physicality of the work.
