BA (Hons) Graphic Design & Illustration

Ella Brownlow

Hi, I’m Ella, an illustrator and miniature model maker finishing my third year at Liverpool John Moores University. I specialise in creating miniature sets, props, and a wide range of small-scale objects, including buttons and detailed models out of clay. My work’s uses have included book covers, articles, and merchandise, but I am always looking to expand the possibilities of where my models can exist - from print to digital and beyond. I have a particular interest in set and prop design for television, and much of my work is inspired by my love of British comedy. I enjoy translating the things I love into miniature form, building playful, detailed worlds that reflect familiar scenes and ideas. My passion for model making stems from my interest in nail technology, with many of the techniques I use in my models adapted from my own nail art practice. I’m constantly experimenting, refining my skills, and exploring new creative directions, and I’m always open to unusual ideas and collaborations that push my work further.
